GFWC has established six main departments: Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International and Public Affairs. As committees, we take a grass roots approach to determining the areas that best fit the needs of our community and the interest of our members.

ARTS

Use your creative talents to reach out to "Children at Risk", support women in the arts, participate in a variety of community art events.

CONSERVATION

Participate in local beach clean-up projects, join us in the Adopt-A-Manatee program, road clean-up programs, energy and natural resource conservation as well as solid waste management issues, and recycling programs.

EDUCATION

Promote continued learning, literacy, learning disability programs and legislation issues. Work with your local schools, PTA's and libraries. Encourage Youth Leadership by supporting organizations such as Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Foundation (HOBY).

HOME LIFE

Emphasis on issues that impact the family such as family economics, substance abuse and health issues. Support organizations such as Hacienda Girls Ranch, Reach Out to Cancer Kids (ROCK) Camp, Canine Companions, March of Dimes and the Special Olympics.

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS

Promote the understanding and cooperation among various international cultures. Support groups such as UNICEF, CARE and Operation SMILE.
